Toyota Joins Google+

Google+ has been in the news a lot recently. It's a new social networking site that's a lot like Facebook, except that it's more focused on companies and organizations. Google+ allows its members the ability to "follow" these companies for information and updates, and it allows the companies the chance to build fans and share brand content. The new Toyota Google+ page can be found at (https://plus.google.com/109401964142949249458/posts).
Joining Google+ makes a lot of sense for the Japanese company. Toyota is already very active on several social networking sites, including Facebook and Twitter. The Toyota Facebook page can be found at https://www.facebook.com/toyota, and the company can be followed at @Toyota on Twitter. Check them out today to view updates regarding industry news, production models, and new concepts.
What's really cool about the company's Google+ page is that it's one of the first. Toyota has agreed to have its page monitored by Google+ as sort of a "prototype" for companies that are interested in joining the network. Google+ will see what works and doesn't work, and will make improvements from these observations. Dave Nordstrom, Vice President of Digital Marketing for Toyota, recently explained the move to Google+, stating, "As a longtime Google partner, Toyota is pleased to announce our +Toyota USA Page. We are excited to expand our connections with owners, fans, advocates and Toyota associates in a unique environment that can be customized and personalized in ways that are important to us all, and we look forward to tapping into the diverse ways to build a rich, fun environment. Follow us and stay tuned for our forthcoming Google+ Hangout."1
