The eight trim levels of the 2020 Toyota 4Runner are the following: SR5, SR5 Premium, TRD Off-Road, TRD Off-Road Premium, Venture Special Edition, Limited, NightShade Edition, TRD Pro.
The exterior of the 2020 Toyota 4Runner changes a lot between the eight trim levels. The NightShade Edition is perhaps the most stand-out in this way, with its exclusive design features such as its black door handles with touch-sensor lock and unlock feature as opposed to plain black, chrome, or body colored. The NightShade Edition also comes with the largest available wheel options: 20-inch split 6-spoke wheels with P245/60R20 tires.
Another exterior feature that distinguishes the trim levels is the availability of automatic on/off headlight function. Higher trim levels like the NightShade Edition, TRD Pro, and Limited are among those that offer this convenient feature. With it, you’ll never have to worry about leaving your lights running.
On the inside, the TRD trim levels have their own exclusive design features. The TRD Pro and TRD Off-Road Premium both feature “TRD” red lettering on the driver and front passenger seat headrests. The TRD Pro has TRD Pro all-weather floor mats. The TRD Off-Road and TRD Off-Road Premium offer TRD Off-Road floor mats. All three TRD trim levels come with a unique TRD shift knob.
Higher-end trim levels distinguish themselves on the inside too. The Limited and NightShade Edition trim levels offer dual zone automatic climate control with air filter and second-row vents. Other trim levels have a single zone air conditioning that is not automatic.
All eight of the trim levels are similar in performance in that they come with the same 4 L engine and 5-speed Electronically Controlled automatic Transmission. However, the trim levels differ in standard drive-train. The SR5 and SR5 premium trim levels come with a standard Rear-Wheel Drive with Automatic Limited-Slip Differential (Auto LSD). The TRD Off-Road, TRD Off-Road Premium, and Venture Special Edition trim levels come with a part-time 4WD drive-train with Active Traction Control (A-TRAC).
The Limited and NightShade Edition trim levels offer an available full-time 4WD drive-train with A-TRAC and Torsen limited-slip center differential with a locking feature.
